Our team

Henrik is a self-proclaimed Bourbon nerd and loves spending time researching nitty-gritty details about American whiskey. He has published a book on the topic in 2019, write reviews and articles – and then he is the creator of The Bourbon School on www.thebourbonnerd.com. He is currently working on his second book. Professionally, he has been involved in international trade for many years – and for the last 10 years in the MedTech industry. He loves cooking, experimenting with cocktail and travelling with the family. He considers USA his home away from home and have visited all 50 states.

Fun fact: Henrik is the only one in the team who knows what 1000 dried mosquitoes weigh – and if there are more stars in our galaxy, than trees on Earth. Also, he has the ability to hypnotize people; As an example, he has hypnotized Linus Jonsson into believing that his Bourbon collection is larger than Henrik’s. This has been going on for almost 10 years – and Henrik is still searching for ways to break the news to Linus gracefully.

Björn has extensive experience in the restaurant and hotel industry and has a genuine interest in food and beverages, both as an end product and production. Through a number of hunting trips to the United States, the interest and passion for American whisky has been awakened. He is one of the founders of the Nordic Bourbon Company and is the economist of the company. Björn currently works with facility management, i.e. various forms of workplace services.

Fun fact: Through a misunderstanding, at the beginning of the whisky career, a far too expensive bottle was opened that ended up as a well-known coffee drink with sugar and cream.

Martin Ekman

Martin’s great interest in The US, and its culture, already began in his teenage years when he and his family lived for a year in ‘The Great State of Virginia’. There and then, a lifelong fascination with (and a great interest in) this, in many ways, strange country developed, which has followed him throughout his life. An interest that has made him return as a guest time and time again. Martin works on a daily basis at an advertising agency in Sweden where he geeks out on brands of all kinds and how they should best communicate, with whom and why.

Fun fact: Of the approximately 100 brands Martin has worked with in his career, none have manufactured American whiskey. We can’t have that, and that’s why it’s high time to change it.
